Overview
In late 3061, one warrior's disturbed visions of a whole host of beasts attacking a solitary NovaCat prompted Khan Santin West to authorize the creation of a new defensive BattleMech to ward them.
Over the next year, a new design called the StarFury was developed and tested by the NovaCats' scientist caste. However, the new machine did not come into use before the young warrior's visions came true. In response to the Abjuration, many Clans brutally attacked the NovaCat's Galaxies in the Kerensky Cluster, throwing Clan ritual to the winds and utterly destroying all NovaCat held property in the Homeworlds.
After the destruction of the Galaxies in the Kerensky Cluster, the development and production of the StarFury was drastically accelerated, and many of the new machines have already found their way into provisional garrison clusters. The NovaCats fervently hope that their new machine can keep the past from repeating itself.
Capabilities
The StarFury carries 3 of the most effective weapons ever designed in the Clans. A Gauss Rifle, an ERPPC, and a LB-10X autocannon. Its lack of an XL engine makes the machine able to be produced quickly and cheaply, despite the fact that it carries EndoSteel structure and FerroFibrous armor to offset it.
The StarFury is quite effective and well armored, making it a perfect mech for almost any Provisional Garrison Cluster. Many clans' warriors have already begun to fear the new machine, and often target the StarFury first. This is often to the advantage of the garrison cluster, since its 12 tons of ferrofibrous armor can soak up an extreme amount of damage.
