Overview
This powerful OmniMech was designed and produced by the Diamond Sharks in mid 3063 as a top of the line Assault OmniMech.  Though it incorporates few new technologies, it is a rather effective blend of battle-proven weapons and components. Because of this, the Liberator's maintenance costs are surprisingly low, and the machine's durable construction has already earned it a reputation for being difficult to kill in single combat. Though slow, the Liberator is most certainly well armed.  Most versions also incorporate Jump Jets to augment its naturally poor maneuverability, though a few notable ones do not have them. As with other Diamond Shark ‘Mechs, the shift from typical Clan naming schemes has disturbed their fellow Clans.  Among the most notable of these, the Ice Hellions have accused them of outright treason.  Other Clans seem to be hesitant to make that call, since it was the Hellions who did so first, and since there is no proof of actual offense - just an individuality that doesn't sit well with other Clans.

Capabilities
The Liberator exemplifies the typical Assault ‘Mech.  Slow, well armored, and exceedingly powerful, it can level almost any ‘Mech its size. The Liberator E was designed as a counter to a mech long rumored in development by Clan Ice Hellion, called the Gausszilla.  Though the origin of the odd suffix to the name is long lost in time, the meaning of it was quite clear to the Sharks.  Watch operatives reported that the machine mounted five Gauss Rifles, and was intended to be aimed for the head of an enemy mech.  Diamond Shark engineers managed to fit a weapons load of equivalent power on a much better armored and faster machine, proving them again the superior of the Ice Hellions - though most experts agree that is not exactly a hard thing to do.

Battle History
The only Liberator to fight so far did so in a Trial of Possession against the Wolf Clan for a small Periphery refueling depot.  A Liberator E piloted by MechWarrior Thomas managed to shoot a Wolf Clan TimberWolf through the head with a Gauss Rifle on the fourth volley of the battle, snuffing the life out of the Wolf commander.

Variants
The Prime variant is a pure hunter/killer. With two ERPPC’s and two Gauss Rifles tied to its targeting computer, this variant will make short work of all its opponents. The Alpha variant is the most common variant with it wide variety of weaponry to choose from. With its two large bore autocannons and energy weapons it is sure to cause other assault Omni’s to reconsider any engagement. Both the Bravo and Delta variants are for close in fighting. Their multiple short range missile systems paired with heavy hitting autocannons and gauss rifles will ensure the pilots survival in the most demanding situations. The Charlie variant is designed to stop any enemy from ever getting the chance to close and deal any significant damage to any friendly forces. With its four Long Range missile racks and four pulse lasers it is guaranteed to accomplish this mission. The Echo variant is a enemy pilots worst nightmare. Not only does this powerful variant have THREE Gauss Rifles, but it also has two ER PPC’s, guaranteeing it will never be defensless.

Star Commander Thomas recently won his Trial of Position after slaying a Wolf Clan Star Captain during a Trial for a small refueling station.
