Overview
In response to the already successful and venerable Hauptmann OmniMech produced by the Lyran Alliance, ComStar decided to produce and field its own assault command 'Mech, replacing the older Highlander and King Crab designs. In a deal with an un-named Davion Duke, and the Free Rasalhague Republic, designing this Omni was possible. Using the myomer and Omni components from the Federated Suns and the factories in the Rasalhague Republic, the Hades was born.

Every variant contains one of the new C3i computers to accommodate the command capabilities. In most cases the Hades does not compare in terms of firepower to the newer King-Crabs, but it is superior in terms of electronics, components, and pod space.


Capabilities
The most commonplace Hades, the Primary variant uses technology readily available to ComStar. Its expensive array of electronics include the Improved C3 unit and a Guardian ECM Suite. Taking hints of weapons design provided by the Davion source, the unit wields a PPC and two ER Medium Lasers in its right arm, and a Gauss Rifle in the left. An ER Medium Laser is added in every side torso and an ER Small Laser in the head. Finally, a Streak-SRM 6 missile system is installed in the 'Mech's center torso. Although not extremely powerful or heat efficient, the Omni's TSM allows for it to attain high speeds after an alpha strike.

The second rarest design fielded, next to the Delta variant, the Alpha variant holds a RAC/5, one of the newer, deadlier weapons provided by the Federated Suns. With the extra space provided after removing the Gauss Rifle, designers added a Beagle Active Probe to the electronics as well as an Artemis IV FCS for the LRM-10, which replaced the SSRM6. All the lasers were downgraded to standard versions, but the PPC was upgraded to its ER counterpart.

Designed more as an infighter, the Beta configuration of the Hades mounts a vast array of medium ranged weaponry. Mounting two Large Lasers and a Medium Laser in each arm, heavy amounts of laser firepower can be displayed. Two Streak-SRM 6s, each with its own supplement of 15 rounds, round out the Omni's weaponry. A Guardian ECM and C3i are again included.

Designed as a powerhouse Omni, the Charlie variant of the Hades is somewhat successful at its roll. Mounting two LRM-15s and three Medium Lasers in one arm, and an Ultra AC/20 in the other, it would be capable of crippling any Medium 'Mech in an instant. The lack of heat sinks makes an alpha strike undesirable, though.



Variants
The FRR has modified a few of their courtesy Hades to accommodate them, removing the C3i computers and adding heat sinks or weapons.

Deployment
Seen most often in the upper ranks of ComStar units, the Hades is now becoming much more common. The Rasalhague’s have been deploying them in some areas, but due to their rather large costs, despite the lack of XL, have not become commonplace yet. The house that provided the Omni technology is rumored to have received a few themselves, but nothing hard has come through on the topic.
